It doesn’t have to be expensive, there is so many different recipes you can try at home and save money.💰 They can be super expensive to eat out, once you find your way making it at home, you won’t stop trying.
I recommend you to try this one, it will not disappoint you. It is on top of my favorite sushi rolls’ list.
Ingredients you need for Crab Maki Roll:
- sushi rice
- rice wine vinegar
- sugar
- surimi or crab meat
- mayonnaise (if possible Japanese mayonnaise)
- green onion (if you don’t like taste of onion, you can just exclude it from the ingredients)
- paprika
- salt
- avocado
- cucumber
- Red caviar
This is how i assembled my roll, it is definitely up to you. Just make sure it is in the middle and ready to be rolled.

Crab Maki Roll - Sushi
Sushi is actually easy to make at home and this recipe is one of the most delicious way of crab roll! Definitely recommend to try it! if you like crab, you will love it.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups sushi rice (150g)
- 250ml water
- 250ml water
- 2 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoon of rice wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoon of sugar
- 5 sticks of surimi or 200g crab
- 5 sticks of surimi or 200g crab
- 3 tablespoon of mayonnaise (if possible Japanese mayonnaise)

- 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced green onion
- 1 tablespoon of thinly sliced green onion
- 1/2 tablespoon of paprika
- 1/2 tablespoon of paprika

- 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced

Instructions
For sushi rice:
- Wash sushi rice until the water becomes fully clear.
- Leave the sushi rice in 250ml cold water for 30 minutes.
- Cook the sushi on medium high heat until the water boils, turn down the heat to low and cook for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, leave the lead on the pan and let it steam for 10 minutes.
- Once it's ready, place the rice in a flat surfaced plate, add the vınegar mixture and mix it with the rice. Make sure you don't overmix, so you avoid sticking.
For Crab mixture:
- Shred the crab/surimi in a bowl, add mayonnaise, paprika, salt and green onion and mix it.
Assemblying the sushi:
- Take a nori sheet and place on a bamboo sushi mat. Shiny side of nori sheet will be looking at us. 🙂
- Wet your fingers and place the sushi rice on it and make sure you spread it even and to the edges as well.
- Put the crab mixture in the middle, thinly sliced avocado and cucumber to the sides.
- Roll the sushi with the help of mat and make sure it is well formed.
- Cut the roll in small even pieces, 2cm thickness is preferable.
- Drop some red caviar on each pieces, and enjoy!
